Since the beginning of the agricultural transformations in the productive pole of Bungo last November, the workers’ movement of the southeastern municipality of Contramaestre has supported with its membership the work of planting and cleaning of the different crops that are now in this region responsible for municipal self-sufficiency.
According to data offered by Tomás Martínez González, general secretary of the Confederation of Cuban Workers in the territory, so far the workers’ organization has participated in ninety-one voluntary works.
Producing food, a permanent commitment
This commitment began in 2021 and is within the work projections for this year.
In this way the Confederation of Cuban Workers of the municipality has supported the production of food, an essential task in the effort to one day guarantee food sovereignty and security.
This commitment has been fulfilled thanks to the willingness, discipline and organizational level of the workers’ movement.
The work of the fifteen unions that group together the more than 22 thousand workers of the eastern workers’ movement of the Contramaestre municipality has been decisive in the execution of the task in question.
