On September 14, the 13th Congress of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) will begin in the southeastern municipality of Contramaestre. The 26th of July Agricultural Production Cooperative, an agricultural structure located in the Popular Council of Maffo -Moscow, will be in charge of opening this process that precedes the peasant conclave that will take place in the capital of the country from May 15 to 17, 2025.
According to Mirza Rosa López del Toro, municipal president of Farmers’ association 34 assemblies will be held in Contramaestrian territory. In them, the boards of directors will give an account of their management and state of the productive indicators, operation and political and ideological work in the last five years.
In these meetings the farmers will elect the presidents of the productive bases and members of the Board of Directors of the cooperatives, the pre-candidates for members of the ANAP Committee in the different instances, delegates to the Municipal Assemblies and to the XIII Congress.
From these assemblies held in the Contramaestrian territory, two hundred delegates will be elected to the Municipal Assembly XIII ANAP Congress. This event will take place on January 18 of next year.
From the present month of September until November the farmers’ assembly process will be carried out. For this purpose, the Contramaestrian peasant organization has called for a massive participation of cooperative members, peasants, associates and family members. The assurance and supervision of those aspects that have an impact on the quality of the development process is the daily work agenda of peasant representatives at different levels in the municipality.
A few days before the beginning of this important process, the peasant organization in Contramaestre is paying special attention to the conditions of the premises where the assemblies will be held, the organization and development of these meetings, among other elements.
