Primary Education Will Conclude This School Year

Students and teachers in the municipality of Contramaestre will carry out activities aimed at closing out the current 2025-2026 school year, taking into account modifications to the evaluation system and other guidelines issued at the provincial and national levels for the completion of teaching activities.

María Antonia Mondeja Fonseca, Head of Primary Education in the area, emphasized the importance of attending school during this period in order to receive essential content for their education in these early grades.

“The third term has always consisted of eight weeks of classes, and we are doing everything possible to ensure that all the content that is crucial for the learning of boys and girls in their respective grades of primary education is covered during this period. Therefore, classroom attendance is fundamental.”

The subjects that previously concluded with partial assessments, the administration clarified, will now be graded on a 30-point scale, equivalent to the assessments of this type carried out in the first two periods. This will be combined with the average of the systematic evaluations, for a total of 50 points, which will then be tallied on a 100-point scale.

With graduation ceremonies at the various schools, including those for students completing sixth grade, primary education will conclude the current academic year on June 19. However, the Ernesto Guevara de la Serna semi-boarding school will exceptionally accommodate students whose guardians do not have vacation time during this period, as a guarantee of the safety of the children in the area.
