Event held in Contramaestre for the Farmer's Day

The ceremony for the 65th anniversary of the signing of the Agrarian Reform Law and 63rd anniversary of the constitution of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) took place this Tuesday at the Credit and Service Cooperative (CCS) Jesús Menéndez Larrondo in the municipality of Contramaestre.

The meeting was attended by George Olivares, president of ANAP in the province of Santiago de Cuba, members of the Party Bureau in the territory, among other guests.

The meeting ratified the firm legacy and support of the peasantry to the Revolution and its social project.

Yutsel Casanova Leyva, a leading producer in the locality, on behalf of the peasantry of Contramaestrense, read out the commitment of the men and women who work the land every day.

The occasion was propitious to recognize productive bases that had an outstanding work in the fulfillment of diverse tasks among them were stimulated the CCS Pancho Tamayo and the CCS Jesús Menéndez Larrondo.

The results of the emulation for the 17th of May were also announced, being the CCS Saturnino Lora and the CCS Camilo Cienfuegos the most outstanding, likewise the CCS Miguel Betancourt was selected as the most integral cooperative.

The central words of the meeting were given by Mirsa Rosa López del Toro, president of ANAP in the Santiago municipality of Contramaestre, a peasant representative who argued the work guidelines and objectives that the organization has in the eastern territory with food production.
