Cuba, always on the 26th, a clue to victory

Fidel Castro and the attack to the Moncada Barracks

The imperishable meaning of the assault on the Moncada Barracks led by Fidel Castro on July 26, 1953 is in the work of all worthy Cubans who love and defend the historic work of the Cuban Revolution that began on October 10, 1868, with its new attempt on February 24, 1895, its continuation in the Sierra Maestra, after the landing of the Granma yacht, and the definitive victory on January 1, 1959.

Thus, “July 26” is the revolutionary reference that the Cuban people contribute to the cause of the construction of Socialism, as the Russian people contributed on “November 7″ of 1917” overthrowing Tsarism and its puppets, as the Vietnamese people contributed on “April 30” of 1975 defeating American imperialism, as the Korean people contributed on “July 27” of 1953 also defeating American imperialism. These are dates that represent the values of those of us who fight against capitalism and imperialism and for the construction of socialist society.

They are dates loaded with the teachings that since Marx and Engels have been providing us with those who led the processes: Lenin, Kim Il Sung, Ho Chi Ming, Fidel, Ché,.…

The Cuban Revolution is the result of conscious and consistent action adjusted to the laws of history of human society, said Fidel Castro on one occasion referring to the Moncada heroic deed. José Martí’s revolutionary preaching was the moral foundation and legitimacy of armed action.

In his historical allegation “History will absolve me”, Fidel expressed: “…In the same way Martí’s books were forbidden to reach my hands; it seems that the prison censorship considered them too subversive. Or could it be that I said that Martí was the intellectual author of July 26th?”

The historic feat of July 26, 1953 marked the beginning of events that changed the course of an entire nation. The greatness of this historic feat transcended national borders and initiated a new era in Latin America.

Cuba, siempre en 26 is not an empty slogan, nor a cliché, but a guide that leads us on the road to victory, freedom, independence, sovereignty and dignity; it is a commitment of the new generations to the continuity of Marti’s and Fidel’s thoughts, it is a commitment to the continuity of the Cuban Revolution.
