Contramaestre People's Councils take on the task of perfecting People Power

The 13 Popular Councils of Contramaestre, a jurisdiction that occupies an area of 611.4 square kilometers in eastern Cuba, have assumed the governmental task of improving the system of People’s Power, after conceiving a set of actions and lines of work to materialize this challenge, which will result in better standards of living and satisfaction of the people.

In Contramaestre, in the midst of the work of these bodies of local power, there are steps of progress, with a superior preparation of the delegates of districts to expand knowledge and mastery of the application of the normative documents and laws governing the organization and operation of the Municipal Assemblies of People’s Power and the People’s Councils, with special emphasis on the regulation Number 132 of 2019.

Better results are also palpable in the delivery of information to the Ministry of the Interior about the tasks and processes undertaken in the communities, as well as in the offices of the delegates with the administrations and with their own constituents for the processing of complaints, approaches and recurring concerns.

As part of the lines and actions to improve the Popular Power, the action of the commissions of prevention and social attention at the neighborhood level is also strengthened to face crime, social indiscipline, and the manifestations of subversion encouraged by the US government to weaken the Cuban Revolution and its achievements.

The government of Contramaestre and its 13 popular councils in the midst of this battle also seeks to multiply the integration of groups for integrated community work in order to provide them, whenever possible, viable solutions to many of the existing problems in the communities and that do not require investments but the intervention of the residents, such as the beautification of public ornaments, the repair of small water leaks and the sanitation of the neighborhood.
