It is no secret that we are currently experiencing a very special situation due to the complexity of the unfolding events, the main cause of which is the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba, which is simply striving to improve its economy and preserve peace in the region.
Faced with today’s adversities, the municipality of Contramaestre, in the province of Santiago de Cuba, is preparing, first and foremost, for the defense of the Homeland. It is also promoting food programs with sustained efforts to improve the family food basket, which is often affected by resource limitations. For this reason, we are compelled to implement innovative ideas in order to overcome the current challenges, particularly regarding the food security of our people.
The northern empire remains there, lurking, with new restrictive measures against our country, intended to economically suffocate us and bend us to its whims—an endeavor they will not achieve as long as there is a single Cuban raising the Lone Star Flag, a symbol of rebellion and freedom.
That is the truth of Cuba, while the United States government continues to plot to prevent us from developing our socialism and maintaining a revolutionary system capable of withstanding all adversities with firmness, determination, and patriotism. Our northern neighbor cannot accept that a country as small as our island can confront such a powerful nation without being inclined toward war, relying solely on truth and the right to be free, forging our own destiny.
