Community Comprehensive Work Workshop held in Contramaestre

Contramaestre, at the invitation of the local government, the “America Libre” Popular Council hosted the Municipal Workshop on Integrated Community Work, which was attended by delegates representing several districts: Maffo-Moscú, Laguna Blanca, Pueblo Nuevo, Los Negros and Baire, among others.

Some 16 papers marked the event, whose issues discussed showed the results in different places in the urban, rural and mountain environment in this municipality in eastern Cuba.

The presentations were also in line with the follow-up of the diagnosis and action plan of the districts, in order to encourage the participation of the people to solve those problems on which their solutions depend by means of the popular contest and unity.

Valuable experiences were presented such as: the strengthening of the revolutionary propaganda in the area of “El Rincón”, the social transformation from the neighborhood in Maffo, the improvement of notary services and the Civil Registry in Baire, linking young people to the continuity of studies and work in rural areas, the attention to the elderly and vulnerable people, among others.

This activity was framed in the tasks of the Contramaestre government to greet the 50th Anniversary of the constitution of the Municipal Assemblies of People’s Power while demonstrating that the district delegate is a fundamental link in the work of the system of People’s Power.

Hence, by consensus of the Municipal Advisory Group of the event, the paper defended by Tania Vega Baez, representing the voters of the 122nd constituency of Pueblo Nuevo, was awarded the qualification as Relevant Work, with the accreditation that she will represent Contramaestre in this type of contest at the level of the province of Santiago de Cuba, once its realization is summoned to that instance.

The highlighting of initiatives with popular mobilization for the promotion and strengthening of patriotic values and principles along with the attention to the diagnosis of the community of El Rincón highlighted the value of the work deployed by Tania Vega.

Other outstanding samples were presented by Daile Maceo Quintana and Bárbaro Valle Castro, for constituencies 16 and 23, respectively, while other delegates obtained mentions: María Antonia Mus, Yoel González and Rodolfo Paéz.
