This September 20, 2024 will mark in Contramaestre the beginning of the first process of accountability of the delegate to his electors, with meetings that will resume direct government-people exchanges in the 161 districts that make up this jurisdiction in eastern Cuba.
More than 600 assemblies of accountability of the delegate to his electors in the same number of areas will be held according to the government’s schedule for this participatory democratic exercise mentioned here between September 20 and November 8 of this year, responding to the call of the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba regarding the first edition of this process in the current 18th Mandate Period of the Municipal Assemblies of People’s Power.
Several actions have been deployed in the jurisdiction, aiming at the preparation of the delegates of districts, the preparation of the meeting scenarios and the power to summon voters, in order to guarantee the assurances in each of the districts in which the 13 People’s Councils exercise jurisdiction.
At the territorial level, we are talking about arranging all the indispensable mimic conditions so that this exercise of democracy that characterizes the Cuban political system is distinguished by the fulfillment of the established regulations in terms of organization, quality and majority presence of the people because from here “We make Cuba”.
In this area, all the tasks are in connection with the leadership of the leadership of the Municipal Assembly of the Power of Contramaestre, the Council of the Local Administration, the organizations of the civil society and the voters.
In the last jornada, the government authorities’ tours of the urban, rural and mountain communities are enhanced, with the presence of the administrative directorates, making clear the responsibility of the administrations to accompany the people’s representatives as part of the improvement of the People’s Power.
In the opinion of the leadership of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power of Contramaestre, it will be necessary to attend with great emphasis the proposals of the population referred to the entities Aguas Turquino, Communal Services, Roads, Housing and Electricity, which accumulate the highest level of popular demand in terms of proposals pending solution and which correspond to recurrences received in similar processes of previous mandates as well as of the current 18th period of work of the Local Bodies of People’s Power.
In compliance with what was agreed by the Council of State of the Republic with a view to guaranteeing the quality of this exchange at the grassroots level, in Contramaestre 41 delegates have been totally released from their work duties and 53 others partially, in order to contribute to the integral attention demanded by this process.
Contramaestre makes clear the commitment to greet this year, the 50th anniversary of the creation of the system of People’s Power showing an atmosphere of true revolutionary harmony in the 13 people’s councils it has, to successfully carry out the program of meetings, to strengthen the support of administrative and social organizations to the community, and to take advantage of the moment to encourage neighbors and families with greater contributions to the social development of each demarcation.
