Camilo Cienfuegos‘ impetuousness, revolutionary spirit, and joviality continue to lead the Cuban people along the paths of freedom and sovereignty that he helped to conquer under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
The Cuban people are currently facing significant challenges due to the blockade imposed by the United States government, the global crisis, and the shortcomings in the implementation of solutions to what we can solve with our own resources.
The attitude of Camilo Cienfuegos in the face of challenges in the plains of Camaguey, Fidel Castro’s decision to confront difficulties and prevail, and others like Che, provide guidance in the present struggle, when we demonstrate our utmost resilience and determination to overcome. We trust that the country’s leadership will identify a path forward.
Thanks to the legacy of men like Camilo Cienfuegos, we are able to maintain our optimism and defend the values and achievements of his generation, almost a century after the beginning of the struggle for Cuban independence.
We will not waver in our commitment to the Mambises who fought against Spanish colonialism, those who opposed the surrendering rulers of the neo-republic, the generation of the centenary, or the 26th of July Movement. We will always defend their legacies and safeguard the sovereignty and independence that were won through great sacrifice.
