The municipalities Tercer Frente and Contramaestre participated in the first Innovation for Development Fair organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment through its provincial office in Santiago de Cuba.
The exponents defended their works in two commissions that evaluated as very positive the scientific level of the researches in which real and practical solution alternatives are offered to difficulties that at the moment hinder the economic, productive and social development in both territories.
Experiences in corn production were also highlighted, especially in Contramaestre, which has multiplied thanks to the introduction of new varieties such as maig-5461, and experiences in the education and gastronomy sectors were also shared.
The scientific event was hosted by the Agroforestry Experimental Station located in Tercer Frente, which supports different initiatives, all aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural development in coffee plantations.
Valued as a success by the authorities of both municipalities present at the event, the first Innovation for Development Fair not only demonstrated the innovation capabilities of these two municipalities in eastern Cuba, but also laid the foundations for the creation of alliances and the generalization of those results that contribute, from practice, to the development of the nation.
