In Contramaestre, in order to correct distortions and boost the economy, the Tax Administration Office, ONAT, is confident of being able to strengthen the tax control of both natural and legal persons in response to the priorities of the local government in order to comply with this process, which is being carried out for the same purpose throughout Cuba.
According to Arelia Rodríguez Reyna, director of the Taxpayers’ Attention Office in this municipality, “it is an essential objective of this agency to provide an efficient response to the current demands for effective compliance with Law 113 on the Tax System, its complementary rules and regulations as well as Law 164 of the State Budget for 2024, in view of the complexities that mark the economic scenario of the country”.
The ONAT of Contramaestre in this 2024, argued Arelia Rodríguez, is projecting an increase in the effectiveness of the Integral Tax Control Plan linked to the consolidation of the directives approved for the prevention and confrontation of tax indiscipline and non-compliance and evasion behaviors.
Within the scope of action in charge of the ONAT of Contramaestre, the purpose aimed at increasing the effectiveness in the collection of tax debts from taxpayers, with a greater work of integrated tax control, conceiving more energetic actions foreseen in the Law, such as: processing the suspension of licenses that lead to the temporary or definitive closing of businesses, migratory regulation and the presentation of files to the judicial bodies for the crime of tax evasion, stands out.
Likewise, the preventive call from the local Tax Administration urges all taxpayers to comply within the established time with the contributions to the Budget, asserting that the taxes they pay are the main source of income for the State to finance public expenditures and contribute to the economic growth of the country. In addition, the fact of honoring tax obligations is an expression of the values of honesty and commitment to society that emanate individually from the taxpayer.
