Woman Innovator in Contramaestre's coffee industry

Women’s participation is essential in all activities of Cuban society. In the business and industrial sector, their role is eloquent and an example is located in the coffee processing plant in the municipality of Contramaestre, in Santiago de Cuba. There, Idaelia Vega Peña works as brigade chief and has deployed all her creativity and initiatives to contribute to the operation of the industry.

A couple of weeks ago she returned from the VI National Meeting of Women Creators. There she shared her experience in the recovery, together with three of her colleagues, of a battery of essential racks in the coffee selection process.

This innovator and her colleagues repaired ten of these elements. To do so, they used recycled materials with which they used to make staples and balls, restoring their vitality and efficiency.

The resilience of Cubans is demonstrated every day by examples such as that of Idaelia and her colleagues. She speaks proudly of her participation in the VI National Meeting of Women Creators.

Idaelia returns to her work in that irreplaceable role of the Cuban woman as an inspiration from creativity, ingenuity and hard work.
