Contramaestre welcomes World Health Day on April 7

With the slogan “My health, my right”, World Health Day is celebrated in Cuba this April 7 with a variety of activities aimed at promoting these conquests achieved by more than 6 decades of Revolution.

On the occasion of the event, Contramaestre’s health authorities reaffirmed that Health is a basic human right endorsed in the Constitution of the Republic and supported by the current process of implementation of the Public Health Law.

They highlighted in allusion to the date, the access of all Contramaestrians to free, accessible and comprehensive health care that promulgates integral community participation as one of its principles, regardless of race, creed, geographic and economic position of the people.

During the day of celebration, which includes initiatives for the World Day of Physical Activity, on April 6, the aim is, together with the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation, to increase the work in the bio-healthy gyms and training areas, as well as to promote community activities in order to educate and promote healthy lifestyles to avoid pathologies and medical treatments.

During the extensive jornada on April 7, workshops will be held on the subject of Intersectoriality, physical activity and the responsibility of the Health System with its people, particularly in Primary Health Care, among other initiatives.
