Thirty-five historical titles to be launched at Havana book fair

Six institutions specialized in the study and research of Cuba’s history announced today in Havana that they will present 35 titles at the 32nd Havana International Book Fair (FILH by its Spanish acronym), to be held from Feb. 15 to 25 at the San Carlos de La Cabaña Fortress.

The initiative is once again the Cultural Project Our History (NH by its Spanish acronym) We Are Revolution, made up of the publishing houses Verde Olivo and Capitan San Luis, of the Ministries of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (MINFAR) and of the Interior (MININT), as well as the Institute of Cuban History.

Also by the Office of Historical Affairs of the Presidency of the Republic of Cuba, the Cuban Association of Historians and the Fidel Castro Center, whose directors explained today at a press conference their promotional objectives in the new edition of the FILH.

One of his relevant texts is entitled Sin olvidar mis raices (Without forgetting my roots), with a prologue by Army General Raul Castro Ruz, on the history of Major General Romarico Vidal Sotomayor Garcia, Hero of the Republic of Cuba.

Sotomayor Garcia came down from the Sierra Maestra with only sixth grade, but later he attended higher military schools, fulfilled numerous and complex responsibilities, internationalist missions and became head of the Political Directorate of the MININT.

They also mentioned in the meeting Las batallas de Guillermo. Conversations with a Commander of the Cuban Revolution, prologue by Army General Raul Castro Ruz and presented last April with the attendance of Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic.
