Venezuelan President ratifies solidarity with Cuba

Nicolás Maduro, President of Venezuela, today ratified his solidarity with the Cuban people who remain firm, in defense of their sovereignty, demanding the definitive end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade.

Cuba has been resisting for 62 years against the most inhumane act of war and this illegal policy ever committed against any nation, the head of state assured in his X account.

According to figures provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, up to 2023, the damages caused by the measure represent an affectation of more than 405 million dollars a month, which implies one million dollars every two hours.

The damage caused by the blockade in these 60 years, based on the value of gold, amounts to one trillion 337 billion dollars, immeasurable figures for any economy in the world, he specified.

On February 3, 1962, Executive Order 3447 was signed which decreed a total “embargo” on trade with our country under section 620 (a) of the Foreign Assistance Act, thus giving an official character to the aggressive and unilateral economic actions.
