In Contramaestre, the National Tax Administration Office, ONAT, joins the current process of bankarization that is gradually taking place in Cuba, conceiving to stimulate the use of electronic payment channels and to reorganize monetary flows.
For the ONAT in Contramaestre, which has a strong potential of self-employed workers and new players in the economy, bankarization favors them in the management and fiscal control, also allowing them to make transparent the operations in which the actors of the economy, both state and private, take part.
In reference to this issue, Arelia Rodríguez Reyna, director of the Contramaestre Tax Administration Office, emphasized that for both natural and legal taxpayers, in addition to the facilities granted to them by accessing the Tax Portal, they have at their disposal various payment channels, such as ATMs, the Transfermóvil and EnZona virtual platforms, as well as Remote Banking.
The director of the ONAT in Contramaestre reiterated that in the area of banking, taxpayers can choose the payment method they wish to pay their taxes. She was also emphatic in emphasizing the importance of the fiscal bank accounts, which in fact are mandatory for all natural persons who carry out economic activities, as recently established by the Ministry of Finance and Prices through Resolution 245 of 2023.
The fiscal bank accounts allow taxpayers to have immediate access to their account statements, help them to manage their finances, pay taxes and carry out collection and payment operations in an agile manner, all from the comfort of their telephones, as referred to in the information published in the ONAT Tax Portal.
This site explains that the use of the Fiscal Bank Account, as a tool within the process of bankarization, makes it possible to make operations transparent among the actors of the economy, while reducing the risks of the budgeted and corporate entities in the management of resources, which facilitates fiscal management and control.
