The Tabacuba Base Section, belonging to the Tobacco Collection, Processing and Twisting Subsidiary Company of Contramaestre, a municipality in eastern Cuba, plays an important role in its contribution to the updating of the Cuban Economic and Social Model of Sustainable Development, especially when its role is now aimed at holding the Ninth Congress of the National Association of Economists of Cuba (ANEC), in July 2024.
The Tabacuba Base Section with that purpose, held its ANEC Balance Assembly, occasion in which when evaluating the work developed in the 2018- 2023 stage, they were able to synthesize their main strengths and weaknesses, as well as the achievements reached and the work that is still missing to perfect their raison d’être in a society in which nowadays efficiency has priority in any financial management that is carried out.

The mission of the Tobacco Picking, Processing and Twisting Subsidiary Company in our territory is to guarantee the production and commercialization of hand-made Twisted Tobacco for national consumption with the efficiency and effectiveness that satisfies the customer’s requirements and to produce, picking, and commercialize in a wholesale way Tobacco in Raw Tobacco.
Hence, the influence of the economists of the Tabacuba Base Section of Contramaestre has been decisive in the promotion and undertaking of the production of hand-rolled tobacco for national consumption with its different assortments, the collection and processing of raw tobacco, the tobacco leaf destemming and the elevation of economic efficiency indicators.
