April renews the commitment of new generations to the Cuban Revolution

April usually has a special meaning for Cuban children and young people. It is today, the fourth day of the month of April, where two different generations converge, who dream and contribute, who love and build, who guarantee the future of the Homeland with study and work.

April reminds us of the rebelliousness of a generation that created history, of young intellectuals who renewed the battered life of the country with their ideas.

Ruben Martinez Villena, Raul Roa Garcia and Juan Marinello, are inscribed in the Protest of the Thirteen to say Here we are! as exponents of a brilliant, famous, committed youth, who published a Manifesto of the Grupo Minorista with goals of a very diverse revolutionary work.

The fourth month of the year evokes that passionate, incisive, emerging intellectuality, concerned about the nation’s gloomy directions; the intelligence that pronounced itself for the revision of false values, for university autonomy and for Cuba’s Independence.

April’s memories

With eternal gratitude, Abril reminds us of the Centennial Generation led by the young lawyer Fidel and other intrepid fellows who gave us a January of victories, full of light and hope.

According to Abril, the pride of the Association of Young Rebels, a mass of very humble teenagers who climbed the Sierra Maestra to become a relay of bearded fighters with ideals of justice and freedom, is treasured in its memory.

This April exalts the youth protagonism in the years of the Revolution in the harvesting of coffee, the cleaning of marabú, the incorporation to productive brigades, the literacy; it exalts the expression of the unbreakable will of the Cuban youth to continue being the vanguard of generations of fighters who preceded them like José Martí, Julio Antonio Mella, José Antonio Echeverría, Frank País, and so many others.

On this April 4, the joy transcends in children and adolescents in the interest for studying and the sense of social responsibility; that generation of the present that loves the Homeland and the peoples of the world and builds the future.

Because April 4 for the José Martí Pioneers Organization translates into pride for the relevant facts of Cuban history and admiration for our heroes and martyrs, because the celebration reaffirms the commitment of the new men and women with the continuity of the Cuban Revolution.
