The implementation of new government objectives and programs in support of education was one of the points discussed at the Seminar for the 2026-2027 School Year in the municipality of Contramaestre. This meeting provided a forum to share experiences and concerns that point toward a more comprehensive teaching and learning process, one that is more responsive to the current situation facing the entire country.
In this regard, the regionation and zonation of education is one of the fundamental objectives, with the People’s Councils playing a leading role and being responsible for educational activities within their own boundaries. To this end, teachers, administrators, communities, and the relevant authorities are key players in the education of the region.
In this regard, Adrián Castellano Nieto, Acting President of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power in Contramaestre, affirmed that “Education remains a priority in the territory, even amidst economic and energy limitations, as it is responsible for providing new generations with the necessary tools to face future challenges.”
For her part, Alba Marina Fajardo González, Secretary of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power, added:
“The Economic and Social Program is very important, as it defines how Education guarantees the fulfillment of the established objectives, indicators, and goals. Furthermore, under the current circumstances, alternatives must be sought to continue improving the educational system and decentralizing responsibilities, so that each educational community can function with quality and autonomy.”
With the support of the governing bodies in the municipality, education in Contramaestre aims to develop a successful 2026-2027 academic year, despite the current economic and energy crisis affecting families and also impacting the educational process.
