Bringing sports and recreation to all communities is the main objective of the activities carried out by the Contramaestre Municipal Sports Department for the summer of 2025. During these months, initiatives aim to promote physical activity among children, youth, and adults alike.
Under the slogan “My summer is for you,” a series of activities began, including a pioneer boxing gala with numerous spectators, in addition to exhibitions at the municipal summer opening ceremony.
Regarding the July results in terms of physical and recreational activities, Antonio Domínguez Revilla, acting director of the Municipal Sports Department in Contramaestre, commented:
“We kicked off the 26th of July Cup with the participation of 12 sports in the six sports teams in the municipality; the participation of Baire, América, Los Negros, and Contramaestre stood out. Baseball was another sport with good results, especially in the teams closest to the municipal seat. A significant number of people from different age groups in the communities have been reached.”
Dominguez Revilla stated that “sports in the municipality works to meet the demands of the population, in order to guarantee a pleasant and active summer.” To achieve this, direct links with the different communities are essential.
For August, the work projections are similar to those of the first stage of the current summer, highlighting the holding of sports cups and other participatory events. On this occasion, community interventions will be the most frequent initiative, aiming to reach all of the municipality’s People’s Councils.
