The main leaders of the municipality Yoelvis Suarez Zapata, Secretary of the Party, Manuel Rodríguez Alfaro, President of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power, and other leaders were present.

The ceremony that culminated the pilgrimage recalled the compatriots fallen in internationalist missions while they gave their selfless help to the struggle against colonialism, neocolonialism and apartheid, focusing on Ethiopia and Angola.

There was also an obligatory allusion to the words of the Commander of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro on the occasion of the burial of the fallen in internationalist missions:

¨These men and women to whom today we give honorable burial in the warm land where they were born, died for the most sacred values of our history and our Revolution… We will know how to be able to follow their example! To them: Eternal Glory!

The main speaker of the ceremony was Manuel Rodríguez Alfaro, president of the Assembly of People’s Power, who briefed on the municipality’s progress in social and economic endeavors.

Rodriguez Alfaro also expressed the solidary support of the people of Contramaestre to Palestine in its struggle against the genocide committed by Israel against that sister Arab nation, which has already claimed thousands of innocent lives.
