Searching for joy

Joy is a pleasant emotion that we feel in response to a positive event, but this type of feeling usually lasts for a short or long time and is expressed through laughter or a smile.

This pleasant and lively impact that manifests itself with external signs, which makes us feel happy, in a good mood and with the desire to have a good time, is palpable in different types of joy: the real one and the simulated or hilarious one.

Both expressions can have many benefits for our physical and mental health, since it reduces stress, favors our mood and even improves our performance at work.

However, can our brain be tricked into thinking we are happy? If we have a bad day and we are sadder than usual, there is a magic to trick the main and complex organ that is part of the nervous system, controlling the vital functions of the human body.

The models of expressive behaviors, can be through a smile as if we were happy, because we would end up feeling better because this revelation is also suitable to generate feelings, that is, the brain is not able to distinguish a spontaneous smile and an intentional one, because in both the positions of the muscles of the face have the same shape.

How can we help to be happier? In the Cuban context, marked by a severe economic crisis that affects homes and daily life itself, we can look for that subjective emotion depending on the disposition or will of each person.

There are certain circumstances that make the vast majority of us feel good, such as spending free time close to nature, exercising, listening to music or being with loved ones.

For those who are more hesitant, there are other plans that can make your life more joyful. If you like to travel, you can plan and make the destination a reality, either within or across borders. And as a sport, the suggestion to be happier human being is in cycling or running, whose modalities enrich the body and mind.

Being joyful does not mean that everything is perfect. It means that you have decided to see beyond the imperfections.
