To take away my land you have to kill me” would be the answer of Niceto Perez Garcia 77 years ago to the landowner Lino Mancebo Rosell landowner who focused attention on the eviction of Perez Garcia from his farm Maria Luisa in the Vinculo province Guantanamo.
Once again the cry of “Land or blood! would be immortalized by one of the men who defended his piece of land to the last consequences in the Guantanamo locality.
More than seven decades after that horrendous event, the Cuban peasantry remembers the vile murder of this Guantanamero who became an example and guide of the peasant struggles.
Today the Cuban people pays tribute to Perez García for his attitude while facing the evil forces of tyranny which did not respect life at all, and which supported the pushing away from their properties of those who oppose any project even though was going against the farmers’ interests and families.
