Contramaestre Commemorates July 26th, National Rebelion Day

Event Held in Contramaestre to Commemorate July 26th

Residents of the Baire People’s Council attended the municipal event commemorating the 73rd anniversary of the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks in Santiago de Cuba and Bayamo, respectively, on July 26, 1953. Political and governmental authorities from the municipality of Contramaestre were present, as well as student leaders and representatives from various social sectors and economic entities.

The event was presided over by Guzmaikel Vaillar Ramírez, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Party; Waldi González Peinado, Vice Governor; Yoendris Oconor Reyes, First Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Party in Contramaestre; and Yurisan Filiú Contreras, President of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power.

The meeting recognized the efforts of several prominent municipal entities in fulfilling their social mission and contributing to the local economy, including the Municipal Directorates of Public Health, Culture, and the Food Industry, among others.

The work of young people in preserving the achievements of the Revolution and their crucial role in the nation’s future were also acknowledged, considering the legacy of the Centennial Generation within a highly complex social and political context.

The keynote address emphasized the need to increase initiatives that promote the economic advancement of the region and local development projects that will contribute to the well-being of families in Contramaestre.
