The Bungueros Guerreros de Cuba Group (BGC) celebrated this April 19, with the typical joy of each of its members, the 52nd anniversary of the creation of the largest and most important social endeavor in the history of Contramaestre, the Plan of Schools in the Countryside with 12 educational centers where, under the Marti’s principle of study and work, we would prepare for family and society.
We were honored to have among those present Roberto Blanchi, director of the centers and well known as El Paraescuelas; as well as Edgardo Lora, who was a teacher and assistant director with a praiseworthy career.
Attending the celebration was a delegation from Havana, headed by the national coordinator of the Bungueros Guerreros de Cuba, Dr. Carlos Manuel Osorio Cayol; and delegations from Palma Soriano and San Luis.
The fraternal meeting number 9 of BGC was enlivened by the Municipal Band of Music and a declamatory, in the inaugural part, and the Group Órbita 1 and the Group La Década de San Luis in the festive section in the cabaret La Pista.
All Bungueros expressed their satisfaction with the organization of the gathering, the quality of the food, attention and treatment of the workers of La Pista, and Jorge Luis Lora Moran, municipal coordinator of the group, acknowledged at the opening the decisive support of the highest local authorities, the Party Secretary Yoelvis Suáres Zapata and the president of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power, Manuel Rodríguez Alfaro. We also had the help of the provincial government, especially from its Vice-president Waldis González Painado.
We must make a special mention to the municipal cultural sector for the artistic and technical assurances for the success of this ninth encounter of Bungueros Guerreros de Cuba, the third one held in our city.
Participants were left with the joy of meeting again, when we already have gray hair, and of being able to relive those unforgettable moments of our adolescence in centers where this indestructible brotherhood was founded.
