In order to supervise the implementation of various agricultural strategies that guarantee food sovereignty and self-sufficiency in the municipality of Contramaestre, a tour was recently made by the highest authorities of the party, the government and representatives of the agro-industrial company América Libre through areas that are currently promoting the development of agriculture in the eastern territory.
The farm of reference belonging to the producer Rogelio Mora González, usufructuary of the Cooperative of Credits and Services Moisés Popa was one of the sites visited. Here Yoelvis Suárez Zapata secretary of the Party of this Santiago jurisdiction exchanged with the farmer who in only seven months has managed to transform thirty-two hectares of land.
This farm located on the banks of the Cedro dam in the Popular Council of Baire has become a diversified, profitable and productive possession. A place where weeds and marabú used to be part of the landscape is now planted with cassava, plantain, beans and sweet potatoes. This result has been achieved thanks to the commitment, effort and family support of the producer Rogelio Ramos.
Likewise, the Contramaestrian party and government authorities visited the agricultural development area of El Rincón, one of the five productive zones of the Contramaestrian town that implements projects that favor the municipality’s food programs.
