Contramaestre's agricultural sector focused on meeting demand for 2024

The agricultural sector of the municipality of Contramaestre in Santiago will have twenty-one work objectives for the current year 2024. These objectives will be aimed mainly at achieving greater efficiency in food production as well as a better functioning of the sector.

These guidelines were recently announced at the annual balance of agriculture meeting held at the Cooperativa de Créditos y Servicios (CCS) Miguel Betancourt.

The agricultural projections include the adoption of control measures to ensure compliance with all physical production.

  • Continue the process of reviewing the productive potential based on agricultural yields at the cooperative and company levels.
  • Maintain the milk crossbreeding process according to OFICODA-Commerce to Agriculture demand. Intensify the integral development of reproductive care.
  • To perfect the livestock mass control system up to the producer level are some of the work guidelines for the period.

On the other hand, to carry out foreign investment and international collaboration projects in the milk and meat value chains. Raising production levels to meet the food demand of the territory and promoting a small livestock breeding movement that will enable the production of 5 kilograms of meat per inhabitant by 2027 and intensifying the creation of livestock modules with no less than five species will be other tasks that will focus the attention of the productive sector.

The main objective of these projections is to guarantee food production in an organized and efficient manner that truly responds to the needs of the eastern territory.
