Members of the forest rangers of the municipalities of Palma Soriano, Tercer Frente and Contramaestrian participated in a fire management workshop in Contramaestre.
The prophylactic meeting was held prior to the so-called critical stage, which begins on January 1st and lasts until May 31st.
The starting point of this exchange is based on the accumulated experiences of the previous stage, considered one of the most complex, characterized by forest fires that devoured hundreds of hectares of forests in the midst of an intense drought.
The forest rangers’ work over the next two months will include strengthening prevention measures based on the population’s knowledge of the risks, creating circles of interest, increasing promotion and publicity initiatives through the media and developing practical exercises using different techniques.
This is a prophylactic work in communities, schools and workplaces that should include the planting of timber and fruit trees, as part of the preparation to face the period of greater probability of occurrence of forest fires.
