European brigades of solidarity with Cuba donate supplies to health services

European brigades of solidarity with Cuba are helping the health system in the eastern Cuban province with the delivery of medicines and other health supplies to hospitals and primary health care areas.

According to Hector Mustelier, head of International Relations of the sector in Santiago de Cuba, nations such as Spain, Belgium and Germany are among the most recent donors, sending indispensable items such as surgical gloves, syringes, nasobuckets, dies and colostomy bags.

Carlos Manuel Escribano, secretary and treasurer of the NGO for development MediCuba Spain, underscored the support provided since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the donation of almost 6 million syringes by 34 associations.

According to Miguel Angel Delgado, member of the Ernesto Guevara Association of Solidarity and Cooperation for Development, from Madrid; the State Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, from Spain, contributes with the coordination and completion of containers, bound for the Hero City.

The recent visit to the province of solidarity groups from 25 countries to celebrate the National Rebellion Day, on July 26, led to the reception of different contributions as a show of support to the Cubans.
