Nature and its biodiversity are a matter of interest and love

Nature protection entails efforts and love

The legacy of Rubén Bravo, martyr of the 26th of July Movement, guides the students of the elementary school that bears his name, in the care of nature.

On the other hand, the community of Plan Turquino “El Guineo”, in the town of Maffo, where this educational center is located, prevails the love for all forms of life on earth, a vision that is transmitted to students there.

Because the variety of life in the universe is for these children interest and passion, visible in feelings and behaviors of care and protection of the nature.

Following this challenge, the educational policies of the “Rubén Bravo”, sow knowledge in defense of community health to ensure man and the population clean air, use of water, healthy animals, populated mountains, beautiful gardens, protected fish and forests, and safe food on the table.

Inspired by the teachings of Martí, who said that nature heals, consoles, strengthens and prepares man for virtue, these explorers of biological diversity make environmental education good practices in search of a sustainable ecosystem.

Nature is interaction

In this rural area, the direct and fertile knowledge by mother nature enlivens, does not close the way to anyone, there is no divorce between children and birds, between fish and fishermen, between forest and forest men, between cattle and farmers, between land and biodiversity is interest and passion.

On the grounds of the “Rubén Bravo” school in El Guineo, they take advantage of the excursions to learn about insects and plants, they talk about the environment and emphasize how important it is not to cut down a tree and to take care of the birds of the forest.

They also learn how to prepare themselves to face climate change with pedagogical participation, family and community, to continue finding poetry in natural science books, to continue defending the order of the world, to continue loving the authenticity of their rural environment in the very symbolism of their nature.
