The Commerce and Gastronomy sector in the municipality of Contramaestre is adopting measures and strategies to guarantee basic services amidst the current power crisis affecting the entire country.
These actions are aimed at providing essential services to the population, optimizing available resources in the area, as explained by Teodoro Espinosa Castro, General Director of Commerce and Gastronomy in the municipality.
“In the Human Resources area, adjustments are being made to work schedules; in the case of warehouses, services will be offered until 2:00 pm, taking into account the fluctuations in the price of basic goods, which necessitate extending this workday. If necessary, remote work will be implemented, depending on each employee’s role and residence.”
Regarding the transportation of food and other essential products, alternatives to fuel are being explored, especially in the areas furthest from the municipal seat. To this end, work is underway to contract animal-drawn or electric vehicles, Espinosa Castro explained.
To ensure self-management in the sector, financing applications are being submitted to commercial entities, with the aim of achieving 100% reimbursement, depending on cash availability. Priority is also being given to contracting with production facilities and non-state actors to supply warehouses and food establishments with essential products.
The director also announced the willingness of workers and entities in the sector to employ alternative solutions to maintain basic services for the population, utilizing the resources and potential available to the municipality.
