The municipality of Contramaestre has not achieved the expected economic and productive results outlined in the local development plans for this territory of Santiago de Cuba province to date. However, modest growth in key sectors has contributed to the territory’s financial health being in better condition than at the same time last year.
The economic and productive dynamics during the first six months of the year in the municipality of Contramaestre have been characterized by modest progress in financial stability. The implementation of the territory’s economic and social development strategy policies was slowed by limitations on key resources such as fuels, lubricants, and electricity.
However, the initiatives introduced led to an increase in net sales while successfully containing the increase in the annual budget deficit, which is viewed by specialists as a favorable result. A positive element is the 68.4% fulfillment rate for physical production, which is 25.1% higher than the same period last year and 33.3% higher than at the end of 2024.
In this context, the number of loss-making companies has decreased, with 100.8% fulfillment of commercial circulation. The emergence of a new joint venture, BioCubaCafé, has breathed new life into the Contramaestre economy.
The export of local products such as aseptic mango pulp, aseptic guava puree, and other purees, as well as charcoal, is positive. The Tropical Contramaestre S.A. Joint Venture has fulfilled its export plan at 112% in physical terms and 127% in terms of value.
