This February 24, 35 years after the creation of Contramaestre’s radio station, “Grito de Baire” is still vibrant and looking to the future with memory and creativity.
Our community radio station has its unique essence, it is that of a common family, which seeks to be heard in real time even recognizing the existence of digital technology and social networks.
Its sound goes out through a receiver and is transformed into different magic; every journalistic product is an informative novelty that is appreciated by the listener, that public that every day looks for the dial on 103.9 Megahertz.
Our radio is neither commercial nor banal, it is small but not simple, fast but not superficial, it is truthful and with its own solid arguments.
Grito de Baire, in its 35 years to be completed soon, together with us, together with the people of Contramaestre, knows that there are essences that cannot be postponed, like the one of the Restarting of the War for the Independence of Cuba, in the town of Baire.
Our radio knows that in Venta de Casanovas there is a history of the peasantry, and that in Maffo, Fidel’s footprints are still fresh, as he led the last battle of the Rebel Army against Batista’s tyranny, on the way to Operation Santiago.
“Radio Grito de Baire” is also grateful for the existence of a social model in the Cuban style, not exempt from imperialist blockade and media harassment, knowing that in the face of these challenges it is necessary to think as a country with resistance and innovative solutions.
Thanks to the hertzian waves in the ether, the radio house of the Contramaestrians, transmits events, tells the stories of its people and does not forget the memories of the children of its land.
Today this community radio station, which began its imaginary journey 35 years ago, with listeners and listeners, journalists and broadcasters, men and women registered as collaborators, project the next broadcast, to pass through the receiver the intricacies that arouse emotions.
We will celebrate the existence of three and a half decades, making a more educated people who appreciate the daily message.
