Contramaestre is undertaking the construction and assembly of the most ambitious power project in the history of this municipality of Santiago de Cuba.
Located in Las Guásimas, a locality belonging to the territorial demarcation of América, the future solar park will be able to generate 21.8 megawatts and will be connected to the national grid together with four other sites to be built in the province.
The work is being systematically checked by political and government officials of the municipality, the province and the nation. This is the case of Beatriz Johnson Urrutia, member of the Central Committee of the Party and of the Council of State and First Secretary of the Party in the province and of Governor Manuel Falcón Hernández.
Only in January, the work was attended by the General Director of the Electric Union Alfredo López Valdez and the Minister of Energy and Mines Vicente De La O Levy.
Here emphasis is placed on compliance with the execution schedule of the work objects, the organization of the work, the securing of resources and the conditions of the specialized forces involved.
A daily review is made of what has been accomplished and the next day’s actions are corrected. Sustained progress requires the support of the people and organizations of the territory in order to capitalize on this as a project of great local connotation with national scope.
The companies Ecoing 24, Cubiza, Nacional de Proyectos Agropecuarios and Nacional de Investigaciones Aplicadas, all belonging to the Ministry of Construction, are directly involved in the construction work.
Intensive work is being carried out on 4 platforms where the piles are being driven for the assembly of the tables and panels; the completion of the bases of the containers, the perimeter fence and the placement of lighting fixtures.
In Las Guásimas, work is progressing on the three-kilometer long lines that will connect the site with the electric substation in the municipality of Contramaestre, with the purpose of interconnecting the Park to the National Electric System in early May.
This is the most ambitious energy project ever undertaken by this territory of Santiago de Cuba and the people of Contramaestre have the merit of being part of the country’s advance guard in the efforts to recover the national electric system in the midst of the process of changing the energy matrix
