At the end of 2024, the opening of the civil part of a photovoltaic park in Contramaestre took place with the beginning of the construction of the accesses, offices, sanitary services, drainage works, drainage channels and perimeter fence, as well as the movement of earth, whose purpose is to remodel the land according to the construction.
Five companies belonging to the Ministry of Construction are working on this site located in the locality of “El Garrote”, in Contramaestre, in order to progress dynamically but with the highest quality.
Once these work objects have been completed, the installation of the so-called trackers, support structures on which the photovoltaic modules will be mounted, will continue, after which it will be time for the electrical installation, where the wiring, terminations and electrical connections are being prepared.
The construction and assembly process of this site in the municipality of Contramaestre is permanently checked by the highest authorities of the province and the municipality.
The member of the Central Committee and First Secretary of the Party in Santiago de Cuba, Beatriz Johnson Urrutia, together with Governor Manuel Falcón Hernández, verify on site the actions in each stage.
The last and decisive phase of this solar park in Contramaestre will be the commissioning in which all the tests will be carried out before the connection to the grid, to which this infrastructure must provide 21 megawatts of electricity.
