The provincial ceremony for the day of the agricultural workers was held in Cuartelito, Laguna Blanca, with the presence of Eudis Manuel Llejas Fernandez, Member of the Executive Bureau of the Provincial Committee of the Party in Santiago de Cuba and Yoelvis Suarez Zapata, First Secretary in Contramaestre.
In recognition of the men and women who work in the fields, the Provincial Bureau of the Union of Agricultural, Forestry and Tobacco Workers awarded five workers with the Marcos Martí Rodríguez distinction, for their more than twenty and twenty-five years of uninterrupted work in the sector. The award was presented by Dayci Pozo Vera, Provincial Secretary of the union.
Four workers, including Yordanis Álvarez Venero, a young Contramaestrian who has permanently responded to the call to produce food for the people, were also awarded the recognition “For the path of victory”.
Five outstanding usufructuaries were also stimulated and the producer Rodolfo Núñez Ponce spoke on behalf of them, emphasizing the commitment with the work of social justice that socialism represents.
Yoel Rabaza Carrazana, Director of the Agricultural Enterprise received a special recognition from the hands of the provincial delegate of agriculture in Santiago de Cuba, Eliover Zapata Hidalgo, for the work carried out by this productive pole.
The celebration ended with the inauguration of a children’s house in the heart of this agricultural community where the children of 25 working mothers will be cared for.
