The eleventh month of the year is passing and the workers’ movement of the Santiago municipality of Contramaestre continues to develop its union activities with the aim of fulfilling the organic functioning of the proletariat.
The Public Administration union, one of the fifteen that make up the workers’ organization in the eastern territory, is currently carrying out actions that support the production of food, activities in honor of the 24th anniversary of the creation of the union, as well as measures that help the rational use of energy in the work centers.
In this regard, Arianna Áreas García, general secretary of the Public Administration union in Contramaestre, argued that (…) the one thousand four hundred and thirty five workers belonging to the sector are supporting the production of food in the two productive poles of the municipality. For this purpose, the schedule foreseen for the change of work is complied with, on Wednesdays the union members go to the locality of Bungo and on Sundays to Laguna Blanca, in both places they carry out the agricultural activities that are being developed (…).
Administration Union and local elections
Areas Garcia also said that the union is also developing special morning sessions where topics of interest to the proletariat are addressed, as is the case of the election process that will be taking place on November 27th where delegates to the Municipal Assemblies of People’s Power will be elected.
On the other hand, the forty union sessions have formed working groups whose objective is to control the saving of all kinds of resources, especially energy, due to the complex situation that the island is going through at this time.
Likewise, the union is celebrating its anniversary, since on November 23 it will be 24 years since the creation of the Public Administration Union, and there will be a ceremony on November 22 at the Casa de los Combatientes (“Combatants’ House”) of the municipality.
