The Guajirito Soy Festival in the footsteps of the peasant's identity

In honor to May 17, Day of the Peasant, the Guajirito Soy Festival was held in various educational institutions located in the rural demarcation of Pueblo Nuevo in the municipality of Contramaestre.

This event is held every year with the purpose of strengthening the peasant identity in the new generations and is part of the cultural identity of the Caribbean nation.

With the support of cooperatives, farmers, parents, teachers and the students themselves, there were exhibitions of typical dishes, costumes, dances, music, parade of the Birama Flower, among other proposals typical of the Cuban countryside.

The Guajirito Soy festival also contributes to stimulate and insert the rural communities to the rescue of these autochthonous traditions of the men and women of the countryside.

It was a different jornada that served for the educational sector and the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) to show their multisectoral work aimed at rescuing peasant practices.
