The western region of Cuba today faces a complex panorama, after the passage of Hurricane Ian, which hit the national economy with force.
This urgent circumstance mobilizes the recovery, mainly in Pinar del Río, the province with the most destroyed economic and social infrastructure.
In that territory, tobacco, the housing fund, extensive crops and water and electricity services received the excessive fury of the hydrometeorological event to show an image of devastated patriotic soil.
The scenario of concern and occupation for the maximum direction of the country, is reverted in a palpable recovery, where arms and efforts make of the rudeness of the times, a giant symbol of unity and solidarity in function of compensating everything damaged and lost.
In the face of such adversity, which is added to other episodes caused by natural events, regrettable accidents and the determination of the U.S. blockade against Cuba, there is no other way out than to continue the leadership bequeathed by Fidel in order to continue being masters of our destiny.
The obsessive persecution of the greatest power in the world with respect to the Island, demonstrates the cruel hatred of the United States government towards a country that by dint of intelligence, work, courage and bravery, has grown on its own.
From such enemies, for more than 60 years, no one escapes except by shielding the unity of the people. To resist has a high cost, but to give in to their blackmail would be unforgivable and shameful, and never to become their servants.
Therefore, restoring the damages of Hurricane Ian will not be easy or quick in time; hence we have to work on our own to heal the wounds and alleviate pains.
The undefeated unity
If there is unity, solidarity does not fail and neither does dignity. To stand strong together, to be understanding and more helpful in the solution of the problem, must be the challenge to be faced.
Faced with the reality of these adverse times, we cannot lack the sensitivity, the willingness to help, the drive of brotherhood without expecting what does not exist.
It is a matter of recovering what has been lost, of overcoming what we have always defended and this is achieved with UNITY.
