Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez and his Seychelles counterpart, Silvestre Radegonde, met today to discuss medical cooperation.
During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Uganda, the Cuban Foreign Minister reiterated his country’s commitment to continuing medical collaboration with Seychelles, given the friendly relations between the two nations and their solidarity with African countries.
Rodríguez announced via his Twitter account that he concluded his participation in the ministerial meeting prior to the NAM summit on Thursday.
“We are pleased to see the unity and strength shown by the Movement, particularly in denouncing the genocide committed by Israel in Palestine, with the complicity of the United States,” he stated on the platform.
Today, the Cuban Foreign Minister participated in the Fifth Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter, where he proposed continuing to coordinate practical actions to help stop the genocide against the Palestinian people.
The day before, the Cuban Foreign Minister condemned the killings of civilians, especially women, children, and UN humanitarian workers, in the Gaza Strip at the meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement’s (NAM) ministerial committee on Palestine.
“With its philosophy of dispossession, Israel has caused a humanitarian catastrophe of extreme proportions in the Palestinian territory illegally occupied for 75 years,” he declared.
During his address, the Foreign Minister proposed that the ministerial committee recommend to the 19th NAM Summit that it support the urgent deployment to the Gaza Strip of an International Protection Mission, authorized by the United Nations General Assembly.
This mission would have the mandate to guarantee the safety and protection of the civilian population, and to facilitate the delivery of urgently needed humanitarian aid and food.Reiteró que la isla continuará contribuyendo en todo lo posible a los esfuerzos internacionales dirigidos a poner término a la actual situación, y en aras de este objetivo, la nación caribeña apoya la demanda de Sudáfrica ante la Corte Internacional de Justicia contra Israel.
