The day of the sugar cane workers was celebrated in the municipality of Contramaestre. During the ceremony, the most successful workers in the different activities were recognized and the commitment of the men and women of the sector to continue working in the gradual recovery of this vital activity was ratified.
The Contramaestre sugar mill has not been milling for some seasons, but as a sign of its agro-industrial roots, the workers of the sector celebrated their day on the premises of América Libre.
The act was presided over by the member of the Municipal Bureau of the Party Elixander Naranjo Chacón, Yoandri de la Rosa Martinez, acting deputy mayor, Yanet Garlobo del Toro, General Secretary of the Union in the territory and directors of that productive sphere.
The Jesús Suáres Gayol award was conferred to workers who for more than 20 and 25 years have maintained uninterrupted results, the five best workers in the different activities were also recognized, as well as ten young people from different structures and support units.
During the ceremony, where letters were read by the President of the sugar group AZCUBA and the General Secretary of the National Sugar Union, the work in the recovery of the agricultural activity was highlighted, thanks to which the territory assumes responsibly, in the midst of great challenges, the planting of sugar cane to ensure the next sugar harvests.
