Fidel knew it, he was confident that Cubans united we are stronger, he knew that the organized masses, indispensable all of them, would be indestructible. Winning the small and big battles of life was the usefulness, the value, the virtue of the birth of an organization that unites, enlivens and fertilizes men and women with the desire to do, to transform. The Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, CDR.
With enthusiastic, combative, versatile roots, the fertile seed is sown, born on September 28, 1960, in front of a human sea that applauded with pleasure the revolutionary birth, which summons families to defend with their own hands and conscience the future of the Homeland.
What a genuine work that enlightens us! Because to say CDR is to speak of triumph full of light, is to have peace on earth, is to extend the arm to save the life of others, is to clean and beautify the block to live in a healthy environment.
CDR, Cuba’s salvation from sabotage
To say CDR is to sow a plot of land to feed our neighbors; it is the support to vulnerable people in need of human warmth; it is stopping the cruelest subversion that has not been able to defeat this country; it is the continuing battle against the US blockade, stubborn to make us disappear.
In alliance with the neighborhood, we are a people committed to the present and the future of the nation, we are the hope for a better world, we are the voice and the action that leads with its people the vaccination campaigns, the massive dissemination of health measures, social prevention.
In unity with the neighborhood, the beautiful recognition of internationalists becomes a reality, the strength of the school-community link and the development of relations between parents, students and teachers is promoted, the collective vigilance for the acquired patrimony is strengthened, we think as a country.
Sixty-three years after the creation of the CDR, other contributions are added to the unprecedented curriculum of the Organization, because solidarity also characterizes the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, uniting men and women in times of adversity.
