Commerce and Gastronomy in Contramaestre assumes the take-off in bankarization

Contramaestre's Commerce and Gastronomy Sector assumes the take-off in bankarization

In Contramaestre, the commerce and gastronomy sector is taking off with special interest in bankarization, convinced that it is a process that leads to more security, control and transparency in the management of its resources and transactions, in view of the current Cuban economic scenario, which requires reducing as much as possible the use of cash in financial operations, making greater use of electronic payment platforms and channels.

Currently, the take-off of bankarization in Contramaestre’s commerce and gastronomy sector is evidenced by the fact that some 86 of its establishments (73.5 percent) belonging to the retail network have the necessary tools of the virtual platform to enable customers to make online payments through the En Zona or Transfermóvil gateways.

Bankarization and QR code

Likewise, in the midst of the consistent response from the gastronomy of the province, 11 of its units offer the possibility for customers to make payment transactions through the QR Code, that is, 28.9 percent in relation to the total universe of units that in their different modalities are located in this territory of eastern Cuba.

It is certainly urgent for the national economy to reorganize financial flows and operations, hence bankarization in Contramaestre will not only have to be championed by commerce and gastronomy, since at the territorial level it is necessary to go more fully to formalize contracts with all those involved in the necessary clearing of electronic commerce, especially when other services should also be added to make life easier for citizens in the midst of insufficient availability of cash in bank branches and ATMs.

Many indispensable technological resources are undoubtedly lacking in order to undertake banking penetration with greater dynamism, which does not deny that currently, through the QR code, several commercial and financial operations can be carried out without the need to operate with cash.

In the midst of this process, of course, constant improvement is required in terms of technological culture, and personalized actions in the units that make the use of electronic commerce in Contramaestre both attractive and dynamic. This is a municipality with a high number of workers with domiciled payrolls, mainly in the education and public health sectors, and with a considerable population that has lines for the use of mobile telephony.
