Achieving a gold medal in a knowledge contest in primary education at the provincial level is not an easy task, at that age dreams are as big as the effort made to make them come true and that dream is a reality for the 6th grade student, Gleidys Caridad Pouyot Beatón at the Semi-boarding School Orlando Pantoja Tamayo in the municipality of Contramaestre in the province of Santiago de Cuba, who won the gold medal in the recently concluded educational event.
Gleidys Caridad Pouyot Beatón: …all this was thanks to the teachers who have taught me since I was very young, to my relatives who support me and help me to move forward and to the methodologists of the competitions who have helped me to perfect my knowledge. I am very happy because in this contest I have learned many things that will help me in my future profession.
To fulfill her dream of becoming a successful professional, Glidys has a long road ahead, full of weeds that she will have to clear as she goes along, and she will always count on the help of the school and the support of her mother.
Training for a knowledge contest
Glidys’ mother: …we supported the girl at home since she was a child, with the help of my mother who was an educator for 46 years, her father also has pedagogical training, the help of some neighbors and the school’s teaching staff, the companions of the Children’s Circle Followers of Camilo who also influenced her formation.
Each individual achievement becomes collective in the Orlando Pantoja Tamayo de Contramaestre Semi-boarding School, the largest center of his education in that territory. Elizabeth Pérez Vega bets on the capacity of her students and teachers.
Principal: … I am very proud and grateful with the results because throughout many years the school has been the winner of many contests but this time there were 12 winners in all the prioritized subjects and the workers’ collective feels proud and grateful with the results.
The doors of the Orlando Pantoja Tamayo Semi-boarding School are open to knowledge and success, and every morning with a smile and a good morning we feel confident that we are building a decent future for our children. Students like Gleidys Pouyot Beatón, winner of the provincial Natural Sciences contest, will make this dream come true.
