Girls and teenagers from various educational institutions in the municipality of Contramaestre participated in an enriching event dedicated to promoting the presence of women in the world of technology and its advancements.
This activity is part of the collaborative work between the Municipal Directorate of Education and the local Youth Clubs, aimed at fostering the interest of new generations in fields such as robotics and artificial intelligence (AI).
The event marked the culmination of a week focused on the importance of technology for the country’s development, during which topics included programming, application design, and the creation of QR codes, one of the most important tasks for Youth Club specialists today.
Various initiatives were carried out, such as workshops on the use of artificial intelligence in academic training, presentations on the progress of the municipal Robotics project, and interactive games where technology played a central role. Participants also reflected on the importance of developing international laws that regulate the use of AI with responsibility and ethics.
By involving girls in projects like these, we contribute, at the local level, to women’s leadership in new technological advancements, bringing a gender perspective to recent research and projects.
The technology sector, historically dominated by men, can be enriched by female participation. In this way, girls and teenagers are beginning to take center stage in one of the most prominent fields worldwide.
