The Education sector in the municipality of Contramaestre is developing strategies to ensure the continuation of teaching activities in the face of the energy crisis affecting the country, which is hindering the transportation of students and teachers within the territory.
These measures are being adopted in accordance with guidelines issued at a recent working meeting with directors from the province of Santiago de Cuba, in which the development of school activities in the current situation was comprehensively evaluated.
The main objective of these actions is to ensure the continuity of education by relocating students to the educational centers closest to them, explained Maricel Echavarría G., General Director of Education in the municipality. This way, students can access the content of their study plans without having to travel long distances.
In this regard, students from the boarding schools in the territory—José Antonio Labrador, Julio Trigo, and Ramón Méndez Cabezón—as well as other mixed educational institutions, have been reassigned, representing a total of 449 students.
The work in the educational districts includes a new organizational structure for supervising academic activities. This latter aspect will be carried out by a director assigned to each district.
These alternatives contribute to the continuity of the current school year, supporting teaching at all educational levels and the teaching-learning process.
