United States Carries Out Seventh Migrant Return to Cuba in 2025

U.S. authorities today carried out the seventh operation to return irregular migrants to Cuba this year, the Cuban Ministry of the Interior (Minint) reported.

With Thursday’s operation, the number of “returns from different countries in the region” in 2025 increased to 27, “with a total of 833 people returned,” according to the source.

In accordance with bilateral migration agreements, 118 irregular migrants arrived today from U.S. territory through José Martí International Airport, including 96 men and 22 women.

The notification states that “three of these individuals were transferred to the investigative body after being identified as suspected perpetrators of criminal acts before leaving the country.”

“The Cuban government reaffirms its commitment to regular, safe, and orderly migration, while reiterating the danger and life-threatening conditions posed by illegal departures,” the Ministry of National Development (MININT) statement emphasizes.
