La Riqueza Mini-Industry Contributes to Local Development in Contramaestre

The operation of mini-industries in the municipality of Contramaestre is emerging as a fundamental link in local development plans, contributing to food production by optimizing agricultural produce and achieving considerable fuel savings.

The implementation of mini-industries located in productive areas is part of the plan to boost local development in Contramaestre.

An example of this is La Riqueza, the result of a collaborative project located in the Niceto Pérez García Agricultural Production Cooperative, which processes a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and root vegetables.

La Riqueza contributes to fuel savings for transportation, generates employment for cooperative members and their families, and facilitates sales of their produce to nearby communities.

A small group of five people keeps this mini-industry alive, which expands during peak harvests to reach full production capacity. Despite the limitations, they have plans to open their own retail outlet and activate another production line.

With these prospects, the workers at the La Riqueza mini-industry in Contramaestre are focusing their efforts on a promising future where the concept will be win-win, substantially contributing to local development.
