Ministry of the Interior comes to its 63rd Anniversary

In Contramaestre, a municipality in eastern Cuba, a ceremony was held to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the Ministry of the Interior, MININT, a body that was created on June 6, 1961 to defend the nascent Cuban Revolution from numerous enemy plans to destroy it.

The Municipal Party Theater was the venue of the celebration attended by a group of combatants representing this battalion that day by day gives its best so that our streets, parks and squares continue with the usual tranquility where children and young people can enjoy the benefits of our society


Major Inaisis Núñez Macías, Chief of Staff of the MININT Headquarters in Contramaestre, read out the order of promotion and decorations: “In the framework of the commemorative activities for the 63rd Anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of the Interior as a just recognition of the work deployed by a group of combatants in the prevention and confrontation of the enemy and criminal activities of all kinds, for their contribution to the maintenance of citizen tranquility and internal order and in use of the faculties conferred to me by the MININT, I order; First, to promote to the immediate superior grade and to award medals for 10, 15 and 20 years of service and distinguished service to the comrades whose nominal list is attached to this order.

Second: to congratulate the comrades with the certainty that this recognition will become an inspiration and commitment to continue fulfilling with dedication and devotion the tasks that the Revolution and the Homeland set them.

Third: that this congratulation and recognition be extended to the rest of the combatants, civilian workers and their families”.

In the presence of Yoelvis Suárez Zapata, First Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Party in the territory, as well as Manuel Rodríguez Alfaro, President of the Municipal Assembly of the People’s Power and Colonel Roelmis Alexis Durán Beltrández, second Chief of the Ministry of Interior in the province of Santiago de Cuba, medals for 10, 15 and 20 years of distinguished service were awarded to a group of combatants for their exemplary attitude, recognizing their contribution to the maintenance of public tranquility and internal order.

On behalf of those promoted and decorated, Major Erislandis Cruzata, Second Chief of the Prison Unit in Contramaestre, spoke at the ceremony.

The First Secretary of the Party in Contramaestre, comrade Suarez Zapata, in his closing remarks at the ceremony for the 63rd Anniversary of the Ministry of the Interior, highlighted the countless feats of the combatants of this ministry, which has become the shield of the Cuban nation. He congratulated them and urged them to continue developing their work and to face together with the factors and the people the criminal manifestations.
